Hi! I’m Diane, and I am “Fit Girl.” I am also an ACE-certified personal trainer, marathoner, founder of Blue Sky Gym, mom to four great kids, and wife to a computer geek husband (love you babe) who is in charge of hacking my html when asked. And he does it well ;0) I also have degrees in Exercise Science and Journalism, both from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), love to travel, read, and spend time with family and friends.
I’m always looking for “fitness”-related things to do – for me, my clients, friends, family, and anyone who asks, really. Are you a Fit Girl too? If not now, then maybe soon (I think there is a Fit Girl living in all of us). Fit Girl might be your daughter, friend, neighbor, sister, mother…she is any woman who embraces wellness, loves a challenge, and also likes a recommendation before she tries something new.
See if this sounds like you, or someone you know…
Do you clip spa reviews out of magazines? Ask your health-conscious girlfriends which restaurants serve the healthiest fare? Jot down the name of your city’s best personal trainer when he or she is highlighted in the news, but can’t find the number when you need it? Pass on to your mom’s group your secret find: a private training studio with top-notch day care for the kids? Wish you could find a way to keep the whole family active without sacrificing their college savings to do it?
To help you find what you’re looking for, I’ve gone to great lengths to unearth the best of what Ohio has to offer. So have at it. I hope you find what you’re looking for, and if you don’t, just ask – detective work is what this site is all about. A one-stop resource for all things fitness-related, my hope is to be able to give you the “where to’s” and “how to’s” of active living in your big city and help guide you toward the resources you need to become and stay healthy, active, and fit for life

Hi Diane,
Thanks for letting everyone know about Speedy Sneakers, our womens only running and walking club.
Just to let your readers know, we have been around since March 2008 and over the course of a year and half have helped roughly 50 women reach their personal running and walking goals. This year at the Columbus Marathon we had our first full marathon finisher who we are all very proud of. We also had another 5 run the half marathon and another 4 walk the half marathon.
Thanks again for letting everyone know about us and hope to see you guys out on the trails sometime.
Thanks so much for the update! I’m a huge fan of clubs that enable women to reach their goals – it empowers them to make other healthy changes in their lives, and hopefully pass their new habits on to other family members. Nice job!
